The Effect of Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) Strategy on Students' Reading Comprehension

The study aimed to investigate the notable impact of Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) approach on students' reading comprehension. was carried out at MAN 2, Palembang. present employed a quasi-experimental design utilizing quantitative research methodology. researchers convenience sampling method gather data. data were obtained via comprehension test administered students in two classes, experimental and control. study's findings examining implementing DRTA before after paired sample t-test indicate that calculated T value 27.797 exceeds t-table 3.030. Thus, enhanced group. An independent conducted examine outcomes disparity between individuals who utilized Reading-Thinking those did not. showed disparities existed among received instruction technique offers advantageous for as it fosters active critical practices. Students enrolled courses engage prediction demonstrates proactive learning, effectively harnessing their cognitive abilities acquire knowledge unfamiliar subjects. Furthermore, mandates maintain record understanding text while reading.
